Lake Silver ESOL Program
(ESOL = English for Speakers of Other Languages)
The Basic Mainstream Instruction with Language Arts/ESOL model is implemented in all grade levels at Lake Silver. The classroom teacher has dual responsibility of the ESOL teacher and grade level teacher to Language Enriched Pupils (ESOL students). ESOL is instruction in English to develop skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to enable the student to be English proficient.
Lake Silver Parent Leadership Council
The Parent Leadership Council is a group of parents of ESOL students that meet in each school. The purpose of this council is to encourage parental involvement and participation in LEP education. The council meets four times during the school year - September, December, February, and April. Please watch your child's backpack and planner for information about our next PLC meeting. We look forward to seeing you there!
